Funds may be established to provide scholarships so
that deserving students may pursue the education they desire. Scholarship
funds may be created
for specific fields of study, for graduates of specific schools, for
use at specific educational institutions, in recognition of achievement,
and for financial need.
- Individuals, families, and businesses may be
interested in a Scholarship Fund when they:
- Wish to create a named fund to honor or memorialize an individual, family
or business;
- Wish to create a fund to make scholarship awards meeting certain criteria,
for example: specific school(s); particular geographic area(s); studying
specific course(s) of study; attending specific educational institution(s);
demonstrated financial need; specified academic or other achievements;
demonstrated talents or abilities.
- Wish to create a fund to make grants or awards to benefit students for
enrichment purposes or to position students to be successful in post-secondary
education.
- Want the continued involvement of the staff of the Foundation to handle
the administrative responsibilities of the scholarship fund;
- Want to maximize the value of the scholarship awards by taking advantage
of the Foundation's historic earnings and
low administrative costs.
The Kosciusko County
Community Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
Funds include:
Patricia and George Lenke established this non-permanent fund in memory
of Patricia’s mother, Deborah Cooley. Scholarships from this
fund will help students pursuing nursing, physical therapy, radiology,
medical
technology, or pharmacy degrees.
This scholarship was established by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's
Department to honor Phillip D. Hochstetler, a detective killed in
the line of duty.
Scholarships from this fund are awarded to Kosciusko County graduating
seniors planning to attend college to study criminal justice.
Created to honor the memory of Sarah Hogan, this award is presented
to a member of the Warsaw High School Choir who demonstrates a positive
mental
attitude. The Choir Department recommends the award recipient.
Indiana University Alumni Chapter of Kosciusko County Fund
Members of the Indiana University Alumni Chapter of Kosciusko County created this fund to provide scholarships to deserving students who are in their third or fourth year of attending Indiana University at Bloomington.
Given in memory of her beloved daughter by Mrs. Jones, to award a
scholarship to a female student graduating from Warsaw Community Schools.
A committee
of Teri Jones’ former classmates recommends the annual recipient.
Created to provide tuition assistance for financially needy residents
of Kosciusko County and employees of Kosciusko Community Hospital,
or of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice who are pursuing a degree in
the
nursing or health profession in direct patient care.
A vehicle for donors wishing to assist area students pursuing educational
opportunities beyond high school. The Foundation’s Scholarship
committee makes their selection from applications received by other
scholarship
funds.
Established in 2004 through gifts by the family and friends of Sarah
Krizmanich to honor her memory and to provide assistance for students
with learning
disabilities.
Graduating high school seniors in the top twenty percent of their class
from Kosciusko County are invited to apply for this scholarship, which
provides tuition
and fees for four years in an undergraduate program to an Indiana
school.
Established by the family and friends of Dorothy Mills to honor
her memory and to help non-traditional students, who are non-smokers,
achieve their
educational dreams of obtaining a higher education. This non-permanent
scholarship is open to residents of Kosciusko, Wabash, Miami and
Blackford
counties.
Provides scholarships for Kosciusko County residents, with preference
being given to students studying to be an organist in a Lutheran
Church or students pursuing a course of study in music.
Established by the Purdue Club of Kosciusko County to provide
financial assistance to needy and deserving students who are
in their third
or fourth year of attending Purdue University.
The Kosciusko County Nurses Association awards an annual nurse’s
scholarship from funds raised in memory of June Reed, R.N., M.S.N.,
Ph.D.
