You select an area of special concern or geographic area,
which may be defined broadly ("education") or more narrowly ("nurturing
parks and recreation in the southeastern portion of Kosciusko County")
and the Foundation will use your gift to make grants in that area. Individuals,
families, and businesses may be particularly interested in a Field of Interest
Endowment when they:
- Wish to create a perpetual named fund to honor or memorialize
an individual, family, or business;
- Wish to create a perpetual named fund to continue an individual, family,
or business; lifelong commitment to a particular charitable field;
- Wish to provide funds for perpetual support of a particular charitable field
by taking advantage of the best thinking of the board and staff of the Community
Foundation on how to provide that support;
- Wish to create a perpetual fund as part of testamentary planning but, realizing
over time that organizations and strategies to address a particular charitable
field change, give the board and staff of the Community Foundation the responsibility
to determine how best to address the needs of one or more charitable fields.

This fund was created by gifts from
a local group of women who wanted to make a difference in the lives of
women. Together, the women act
as an advisory group helping to recommend grants impacting women to the
Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.
