The Kosciusko County Community Foundation is pleased to present its 2009 Annual Report and Annual Report Details. Lilly Endowment Grants $7 Million to Community Foundation for Orthopedics and Community Initiative
Warsaw, IN, September 23, 2009 - The future of Warsaw, Indiana, the orthopedics capital of the world, received a significant boost today: the single largest private foundation grant ever awarded in the region.

Grants from Community Funds Reflect Economy
Human Services projects led the pack in grants approved from Community/Unrestricted Funds at this month’s board meeting. Of the nearly $133,000 in grants approved, 60% of them fell directly into the human services category, and several others classified human services as a sub-category.

Community Foundation Announces Lilly Scholars
The Kosciusko County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 Lilly Endowment Community Scholars (LECS). This award provides full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $800 per year for required books and equipment toward an undergraduate degree at any accredited college or university in Indiana. The 2009 recipients are Chase Byerly and Amy Green, both of Warsaw Community High School.

New Fund at the Community Foundation Benefits Nursing Students at Ancilla College
Nearly 60 years ago, Savina Kralis received her nurses training from
the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in Gary, Indiana. Her education
benefitted her during the time she served as a nurse, and also as she
raised 12 children with her husband, Jerry.
