KCCF Awards Nearly $190,000 In Community Fund Grants

The Kosciusko County Community Foundation recently awarded 27 local organizations and agencies with Community Fund Grants. In total, the amount awarded was $189,030.

Community Fund Grants are awarded based on a competitive grant application process. Nonprofit organizations serving Kosciusko County are eligible to apply in one of seven areas of interest that include education, health, recreation, arts & culture, civic projects, the environment, and human services. 

Congratulations to the following organizations:   

  • Baker Youth Club – $7,500 for before/after school & camp programs, made possible by the Boren Family Fund and Jerry and Norma Ferguson Community Fund.
  • Brightpoint – $7,500 for health insurance navigation, made possible by the Byron C. Doran and JoAnn Doran Charitable Endowment.
  • Building a Stronger Family – $5,000 for a youth program Wawasee Middle School, made possible by the Dekko Enhancement Fund.
  • Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana – $10,000 for client services, made possible by the Carl N. Wendel Fund and the Seth and Kathleen Mason Charitable Fund.
  • City of Warsaw – $10,000 for multilingual help center expansion, made possible by Community Funds.
  • Edgewood Middle School – $3,855 for a school-wide PBL unit, made possible by the Hollar Family Community Fund.
  • Fort Wayne Ballet – $3,500 for community performances & programs, made possible by the Glover Family Fund.
  • Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Michiana – $3,000 for a Girl Scout Leadership Experience, made possible by The Claude C. Hartman and Sarah R. Hartman Endowment Fund.
  • Harrison Elementary School – $5,000 for necessities for students, made possible by the Gidieon Orion Cook Memorial Fund, Guardian Angel Fund, Avalon Community Fund, and the Jerry and Norma Ferguson Community Fund.
  • Honeywell Foundation – $5,000 for Arts in Education, made possible by the The J. Alan Morgan and Lucy Morgan Community Endowment in Kosciusko County.
  • Hope’s Harbor Family Hospitality Homes– $7,000 for overnight accommodations for families, made possible by the Kralis Community Funds.
  • Junior Achievement Serving Kosciusko County – $6,000 for career & financial literacy programs, made possible by the Herman Frauhiger Memorial Community Fund, MutualBank Charitable Foundation, and the Mariposa Fund.
  • Kate’s Kart– $3,000 for books for hospitalized children, made possible by the Terry and Terese Hand Community Fund.
  • Lakeland Youth Center – $7,500 for a preschool STEAM center, made possible by the Syracuse Community Child Care Fund, Donald and Mildred Frantz Discretionary Endowment Fund, and the Mariposa Fund.
  • LifeTouch Ministries & Counseling Center – $7,500 for financial assistance for counseling, made possible by the Kosciusko County Mental Health Services Fund, The William and Helen Dye Endowment Fund, and the Miles D. and Maxine I. Igo Community Fund.
  • McMillen Health – $3,675 for preventative health education, made possible by The Thomas J. LeHew Endowment Fund.
  • Milford Food Bank – $3,500 for food to fight hunger, made possible by the Archibald (Arch) and Della Baumgartner Community Fund.
  • PBS Michiana – WNIT – $5,000 for PBS KIDS outreach programs, made possible by the Edward R. and Patricia L. Likens Fund, Findlay Education Fund, and the Jerry and Norma Ferguson Community Fund.
  • REAL Services – $7,500 for a senior nutrition program, made possible by The George and Patricia Lenke Community Fund.
  • Servants at Work – $3,000 for wheelchair ramps, made possible by John S. Frederich Endowment Fund.
  • The Magical Meadows – $11,000 for new riding arenas, made possible by the Edward and Huldah Brandenburg Charitable Endowment and the Edward R. and Patricia L. Likens Fund.
  • Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory – $20,000 for outdoor warning sirens, made possible by the Kosciusko Civil Services Fund.
  • Town of Silver Lake – $10,000 for a new Community Center, made possible by The William and Helen Dye Endowment Fund.
  • Town of Winona Lake – $2,000 for Chicago Boy’s Club sculptures, made possible by the Suzie Light Visual and Performing Arts Fund and the Glover Family Fund.
  • Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory – $20,000 for treadmills, made possible by the Kosciusko Civil Services Fund.
  • Warsaw Community Schools Band Boosters – $2,000 for student leadership training and flatbed carts, made possible by Community Funds.
  • Warsaw Police Department – $10,000 for ballistic helmets, made possible by the Kosciusko Civil Services Fund.
