I Received A Scholarship... What's Next?

Congratulations on receiving a scholarship from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation! This scholarship recognizes your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your education. Please review the information below carefully to ensure you complete next steps successfully.
STEP 1. Check your email. An official award notification has been sent to the email address you provided on your application. This message includes additional information about your scholarship.
STEP 2. Complete important follow-up forms by JUNE 10 to either accept or decline your scholarship award.
- Go to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation Scholarship Portal at www.kcfoundation.org/scholarshipportal.
- Login to you existing account.
- Find your assigned follow-up forms listed under the Assigned to You column on your dashboard.
- Complete and submit each form by the deadline.
STEP 3. Notify the Community Foundation IMMEDIATELY should your school or major change after submitting your follow up forms. Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to your college, university, or trade school at the end of July.
STEP 4. Contact your school’s financial aid or bursar office in August to verify that they received the check for your scholarship(s) and inquire how the money is being distributed to ensure your preferences are being followed. It is your responsibility to follow up with your college or university. Please note that it may take several business days before your scholarship is applied to your student account.
Don’t forget to send a thank you note!
Write a separate thank you note for each scholarship award that you received. A sample thank you could include “Dear donor of the ______ Fund.” Then, include a heartfelt message about the impact this scholarship will have on your education. Once complete, mail your thank you note to the address below and we will forward your thank you to the donor or their family:

For-Profit Colleges
The Community Foundation may not be able to award a scholarship to a student attending a for-profit college, university or trade school.
