The Kosciusko County Community Foundation and AWS Foundation announced a partnership to provide support for building inclusive communities for those with disabilities. Through this partnership, the AWS Foundation Accessible Communities Fund was recently established at the Community Foundation.
“With the creation of this new fund, local nonprofits will have greater access to the resources they need to continue serving individuals with disabilities,” said Alex Hall, Vice President of Programs at the Community Foundation. “We are grateful for partners like AWS Foundation that help to broaden our grant making capacity and enrich programs that serve individuals in our community.”
Charitable organizations serving Kosciusko County residents are eligible to apply for projects and programs that meet the Guiding Principles of the fund. Organizations can request up to $5,000 to support inclusive programs and projects for children and adults with enduring intellectual, development, and physical disabilities until all funds have been allocated.
“As we work to build a more inclusive Northeast Indiana, our rural communities play an important role in serving people with disabilities,” said Patti Hays, CEO of AWS Foundation. “We’re hopeful this new partnership will help equip Kosciusko County nonprofits and organizations with the support needed to engage individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life.”
Organizations interested in applying for funding through the AWS Foundation Accessible Communities Fund should contact Alex Hall at alex@kcfoundation.org prior to submitting a formal application online. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and will be awarded through a competitive grant application process.
