Looking Ahead: Our Five-Year Vision
Press Releases

The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors recently adopted a new five-year strategic framework designed to strengthen our organization and respond to community needs. Late last year, we engaged a nonprofit strategic planning consultant to assess our organization, gather community data, and hear from donors, nonprofits, community members, staff, and board members. Their insights helped shape a clear picture of where we are today and where our community would like us to go in the future.
Our assets have increased 30% in five years and we now manage more than 570 charitable funds. Donor Advised Funds have grown 74%, reflecting a growing desire among donors to connect their generosity with the needs they care about.
Stakeholders made one thing clear: our community wants to know more about the work we do and how we are committed to helping address the top issues residents face in Kosciusko County.
Housing affordability emerged as the top community concern. Childcare, transportation, employment & job training, and food insecurity also rose to the forefront. Our response is a five-year roadmap built around five priorities that include: 1) Increase Internal Capacity, 2) Build Awareness, 3) Expand Funding, 4) Prioritize/Address Community Needs, and 5) Strengthen Nonprofit Capacity.
We have outlined strategies and timelines to help us reach our goals over the next five years. We are grateful to those donors, nonprofits, and community members who participated in our survey and helped inform our work.
