Ag Scholarship Fund for Tippy Valley Students Created in Memory of Kurt Miller

Kurt Miller

A scholarship fund in memory of Kurt Miller was recently established by Dale and Jolie Miller (no relation to Kurt) at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. The Kurt Miller Ag Scholarship Fund will benefit graduates of Tippecanoe Valley High School (TVHS) who are pursuing an agriculture related degree in college and who have participated in either 4-H or FFA. TVHS administration will select a scholarship recipient annually.

Kurt passed away in 2015, at the age of 17, as a result of a tragic accident in which he was pulled under a garden tractor. He was a Junior Firefighter for the Burket Volunteer Fire Department. He was actively involved in the Tippecanoe Valley FFA and Beaver Dam 4-H Club. He cared deeply about agriculture and his community. This scholarship fund, in his memory, will allow TVHS to recognize a student who displays the same values that Kurt displayed during his lifetime.

The fund founder, Dale Miller, had a locker next to Kurt’s dad, Kyle, all throughout high school at TVHS. After Kurt passed away, Dale realized it was time to start the Ag scholarship for graduates of TVHS, an idea that he had thought about for several years.

Contributions to the fund are welcome and can be made care of Kosciusko County Community Foundation, 102 E Market Street, Warsaw, IN 46580. Write “Kurt Miller Ag Scholarship” in the memo line of your check. Gifts can also be made online at www.KCFoundation.org/Donate.
