Legacy of Local Veteran, Missionary, Teacher & Counselor Lives On Through Fund at the Community Foundation

Bob Westerhof

The Kosciusko County Community Foundation is honored to announce the creation of the Robert Westerhof Family Fund. The fund was established in memory of Robert “Bob” Westerhof by his family to support educational projects.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he also served as a missionary and English teacher. He then had a 31 year career as an employment counselor. Robert was a strong supporter of several local churches. He loved to sing and was an avid reader which led to his emphasis on the importance of education to his children.

“My dad was passionate about his faith and had an endless striving for knowledge,” said Robert’s son, Tom Westerhof. “I hope this fund allows his legacy to live on by giving educators and teachers the tools to help them identify and develop passion in their charges and to promote a lifetime spent seeking knowledge.”

Grants from the Robert Westerhof Family Fund will be made upon the recommendation of Robert’s son, Tom, as approved by the Community Foundation’s board of directors.
