Kosciusko County Community Foundation offers Go Forward! funding for local towns
The Kosciusko County Community Foundation has set aside funding for local town governments who participated in FORWARD Kosciusko County. Selected recipients may receive a one-time grant of up to $20,000.
“We want to enable communities to act on the strategies in their newly-adopted FORWARD Kosciusko County plans,” said Alex Hall, vice president of programs at the Community Foundation. “Our new Go Forward! grant is a continuation of the investment the Community Foundation made in small towns when we initiated the county-wide comprehensive effort.”
Go Forward! can jumpstart initiatives of all kinds, such as the design or construction of new infrastructure; the purchase of needed equipment; the implementation of new programs; or improvements to sidewalks, downtowns, parks and much more.
From 2019-21, FORWARD Kosciusko County compiled community feedback and statistics and established a county-wide, comprehensive strategic plan. Individual town government plans include strategies for land use, public utilities, facilities and services, natural resources, trails, downtown revitalization, and more. “FORWARD Kosciusko County laid out an excellent road map for our communities,” said Amy Roe, Kosciusko County Community Coordinator. “I am excited to see how the towns utilize the Go Forward! funds to accomplish the projects outlined in their plans.”
All grant proposals must align with priorities in the towns’ strategic plans, as provided by FORWARD Kosciusko County. Preference will be given to proposals where the Foundation’s grant is matched dollar-for-dollar by other funding sources.
