Ride for KC Riley Kids Fund

American Legion KC Riley

American Legion Post 253 Member Ronald Ringle presents KCCF Associate Director Stephanie Overbey with a $1,500 check for the KC Riley Kids Fund.

American Legion Riders 253 recently donated $1,500 to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s KC Riley Kids Fund from their annual benefit ride held on August 17, 2019.

Each year, the Riders from American Legion Post 253 participate in this benefit ride that was originally organized by Mike Elwood. Mike was the owner of Elwood’s Appliance, Inc. in Waynedale and a member of the American Legion where he held many different positions, including Commander. When Mike passed away in 2012 from cancer, the Riders chose to continue the ride each year in his memory.

The proceeds from the ride go into the KC Riley Kids Fund, which provides support to Riley Hospital and financial assistance to the families of Kosciusko County children who are patients at Riley Hospital. Generally, assistance to families is in the form of gas or food gift cards.

If your family is in need of assistance from the KC Riley Kids Fund, please contact The Help Center at K21Health Services, 1515 Provident Drive, Warsaw or 574-372-3500. For more information about how to support the KC Riley Kids Fund, please contact the Community Foundation or Donate Now.
